October Newsletter Dear First Grade Families, It is difficult to believe that we are already a month into our school year, however, we are off to a great start. I do appreciate all of the communication that I’ve had with parents through email and the daily planner. I make a point of checking planners every morning and email on a regular basis. If you reach out to me, I will respond as quickly as possible. Please do not hesitate to voice your questions or concerns. I want to make you aware of some upcoming dates in October: October 5th- Fall Vision and Hearing Screening- Students who are new to our school will participate in this screening. October 7th- PTA Walkathon- We are working hard to raise money for new playground equipment and Lego Boards for our STEM Lab/ Maker Space. Permission slips and fees for our field trip to Ikenberry Orchards is due on this day as well. October 12th- Two hour early dismissal for students! October 13th- Field Trip to Ikenberry Orchards- Students should wear sneakers and pack a jacket! October 14th- Fall Parties October 18th- Fall Reading Night at 5:30 October 24th- 28th- Red Ribbon Week As you have likely noticed, I am sending home a schedule of our Specials on Fridays for the upcoming week. I hope this helps you and your student plan ahead and prepare for these special classes. Thank you Mrs. Southern for the great idea! I may, at some point create a monthly calendar that would outline the same information for you. I hope that your child is enjoying our class as much as I am. I look forward to a fun and successful school year! Thank you for your support. Regards, Mr. Frick
